Wildwood Woman With Multiple Sclerosis Makes Perfect Mixed Drinks When She Falls Down The Steps
Updated: Oct 9
Stefanie and Thomas Colada of Heather Road in Wildwood Crest have found a silver lining in Stefanie’s multiple sclerosis. When she falls while holding alcohol, the outcome is a perfect mixed drink. “I’m torn between the love I have for this wonderful woman and my desire to see her tumble down the steps and make a superb Margarita,” says Tom.

Stefanie has been wearing a custom-made “booze belt” that stores various types of alcohol in compartments she can wear around the house. After a good tumble down the stairs, Tom and Stefanie get “shit-faced” while waiting for the ambulance.
The outstanding quality of Mrs. Colada’s drinks has inspired the couple to enter national mixed-drink competitions. The advocacy group Fathers for Drunk Driving is sponsoring the U.S. Championships in Milwaukee this spring. The grand prize is $50,000 and a really good time.
“If the steps in the arena for the championship are steep enough, we have an excellent shot at winning,” says Mr. Colada. After that, the couple has their sights set on the World Championship, but the competition is stiff. “There’s a lucky guy in Finland whose wife has Parkinson’s. She’s practically unbeatable.”
